Update 11/11/2020

Well it’s been a while since I last posted. A lot has happened over the last year. I’m still single. hahaha! Let’s review, shall we? The world, as we know it, changed in March 2020. I had heard about COVID-19 over in China. I really never thought much about, at the time. I knew that China as in deep trouble and that this was very bad but could it reach the U.S. and do that much damage? I mean China is on the other side of the world.

On Friday March 13th, I came back to the office from lunch and was told that we would be closing the office and working from home for 2 weeks due the virus. I have discussed my terrible commute and traffic on this blog. For me, this was a break from the traffic. It’s now November and I am still working from home. I really don’t mind. I can work longer and I feel I’m more productive when I don’t have to waste over 2 hours a day sitting in traffic. I still go into the office occasionally, when needed. It is very eerie. A 20 story building that once had around 2,500 people working in it is now deserted.

Then the riots broke out. I remember sitting at home watching the whole thing unfold on live TV. I could tell that the crowd was getting more and more violent and then they began trashing police cars, smashing storefront windows and setting fires. This, of course, was to protest the killing of George Floyd. While I believe George Floyd should still be alive, that is not protesting. They were just criminals that were exacerbating the horrific problems that small businesses were already facing due to the pandemic. They were just adding insult to injury for these poor businesses that were just trying to survive.

We just had the Presidential election. Even that is mess. I believe Biden will be the next President of the United States. He has promised a lot. My question to Biden is, do you really have a plan to get this country back to normal? He says he does. I sincerely hope that he does. Career politicians promise a lot but, when elected, usually don’t deliver.

I am doing my part to keep myself and those around me well. I wear a mask whenever I need to go out in public. I think that is a small thing to ask.

I has been a very eventful year, indeed. This just my view in a nutshell. I don’t think anyone is really reading this but it’s good therapy for me. I will try and make my next post more upbeat. That’s it for now. Stay safe!
